The New Generation of Control Systems for Sun Protection

A Solution for Today's Environmental Challenges

As global environmental awareness increases, the market for sun protection and blackout systems has exploded. This is because buildings and facilities can no longer meet today's stringent environmental requirements without the aid of advanced sun protection systems. In this article, we will explore why a new type of control system is necessary and how AudicomPendax is tackling this challenge.

Environmental requirements for buildings and facilities have never been higher. To meet these requirements, a new generation of control systems is needed that can handle complex needs and variables. This includes everything from automatic adjustments based on weather conditions to user settings, which can often lead to "conflicts" in the system.

Solutions

When it comes to choosing the right control system for sun protection, it's important to look not only at functionality but also at sustainability and flexibility. AudicomPendax stands out in several ways:

Sustainability

Our sun protection systems have been rated "Recommended" by Byggvarubedömningen, which is a strong indication that our products meet the strictest sustainability requirements. This is not only good for the environment but also for builders and property owners who want to ensure that their investments are sustainable in the long term.

Flexibility

Our systems are designed to be flexible and adaptable to a variety of use cases and needs. Whether it's a small residence or a large commercial building, we have solutions that can be customized to meet your specific requirements.

Local Manufacturing

We are proud that all our products are manufactured locally in Sweden. This not only reduces our carbon footprint but also ensures that we can maintain a high standard of quality and quick delivery times.

Long Experience

AudicomPendax has roots dating back to 1938, with our original company, AB Svensk Luftskyddsgardin, once located at Maria Prästgårdsgata in Södermalm, Stockholm. This long history gives us unique insights and experience that we use to continually improve and adapt our products and services.

With these strengths as a foundation, we at AudicomPendax have developed a methodology for the successful planning of sun protection systems. This methodology, or 'cheat sheet' as we like to call it, includes the following important aspects:

  1. Number of windows to be controlled: This helps us to effectively plan and size the system for your specific building.
  2. Sides of the building to be controlled: Knowing this allows us to optimize the system for maximum energy efficiency.
  3. Ability to change parameters in the system: This gives the owner the flexibility to adapt the system to changing needs over time.
  4. Open system for owner-controlled changes: Our systems are designed so that the owner can make programming changes in the future without being dependent on the original supplier.
  5. Radio or wired system or a combination: We offer various connection options to suit different installation needs and conditions.
  6. Automatic times for lowering or raising: This enables more energy-efficient operation by allowing the system to be controlled based on schedules.
  7. Temperature – fabrics have different temperature tolerances: We take into account the properties of materials to avoid damage and extend the system's lifespan.
  8. Wind speeds the system should withstand: This is important to ensure the system's durability and functionality even under extreme weather conditions.
  9. Alarm control such as fire alarms: Our systems can be integrated with security systems for increased safety and response in emergency situations.
  10. Integrated into another bus system: This provides a seamless user experience and enables easier control of multiple systems from a central location.
  11. Number of zones, e.g., floors: We can tailor the system to handle different zones within a building, providing even greater flexibility and control.

An example of a recent project we have worked on includes 450 indoor blackout units, spread over 11 floors and 3 cardinal directions. The system is equipped with individual options in each room, time control, sun control with time control between raising and lowering, and its own LAN network.

The new generation of control systems for sun protection is not just a technological success but also a necessity in today's environmentally conscious society. With proper planning and implementation, these systems can make a huge difference in how we use and save energy.
