About our blackout and solar shading
For more than 50 years, Audicom Pendax has developed, manufactured and installed blackout and solar shading solutions. All in-house and “Made in Sweden”. That combination makes us unique: we own the entire chain from idea and design to a finished, commissioned installation, which gives you as the client a single point of contact, shorter lead times and a result we can fully stand behind. In our showroom in Skarpnäck, Europe’s largest for AV and solar shading, you can see the entire range in real life before you decide.
The specified solution. Your peace of mind in the tender
If you have already won the tender and submitted a bid based on a specified solution for solar shading or blackout, we know how important it is to be able to keep your promises. On time, in quality and on price. That is why our quote is always based first and foremost on the specified solution, so that what you have committed to towards your client is exactly what we deliver to you.
Five things determine whether we are the right choice:
- The right solution – we quote the specified product and function as is, so that your bid and your contract hold all the way to an approved final inspection.
- Quality in product and installation – we develop, manufacture and install in-house and are certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, which ensures consistent quality regardless of which manufacturer is specified.
- Service and support – we offer sales, installation, service and support throughout Sweden, in-house or through quality-assured partners, so you get the same peace of mind wherever in the country the project is.
- Warranty – you get clear warranty terms on both product and installation, documented in the quote, so responsibility is clear if anything needs to be put right.
- Price – as an in-house developer and manufacturer, we can keep our prices competitive even on the specified solution, without costly middlemen.
Where possible, we also add an alternative proposal based on our own manufactured solutions – an alternative you can choose to go ahead with if you wish, without it affecting our delivery of the specified solution in any way.
Beyond that, our solar shading and blackout offering is made up of three parts that together determine the result: the blind system, the fabric and the controls. By choosing the right combination of all three, you get a solution adapted to the façade, the activities and the operational needs – not a standard product that has to make do.
1. The blinds – indoor or outdoor
In addition to the specified solution, we can also offer our own range here. Our X-Line modular system comes in two basic versions, the Large and the Small modular system, both developed and manufactured in aluminium for a long service life and minimal maintenance. The blinds can be mounted inside the window recess for a discreet, integrated look, or face-mounted on the wall or ceiling when the recess is too shallow or the blind needs to cover a larger area. Our unique mounting bracket makes installation quick and easy – the cassette snaps in steplessly anywhere along the bracket, which in turn can be mounted flush against both ceiling and wall. The Large modular system handles up to 6000 x 4000 mm per unit without a seam, which simplifies both design and installation and lowers the total cost. With face-mounted installation, several units can be linked in series to reduce the number of operators.
2. The fabric – design that drives performance
The same goes for the fabric, where in addition to anything specified we also have a wide range of our own to offer: classic blackout fabric for complete screening, solar shading fabric with controlled light transmission for a pleasant light environment without shutting out daylight entirely, and our own Drömväven (Dream Fabric) – a combined projection and blackout fabric, built up in three layers and completely PVC-free, which lets the same surface work as both a projection screen and blackout. The fabrics come in several qualities, including flame-retardant options for environments with higher requirements, and can be supplied in a complete range of colours and patterns from the industry’s leading fabric manufacturers. The right fabric is chosen based on what the surface needs to handle – heat, cold, light, image or sound – so that the solution meets the actual need in each individual room.
3. The controls – from simple operation to autonomous control
On the control side, too, we can complement the specified solution with our own range. Operation can be handled at several levels depending on needs and budget: spring- or crank-operated units for smaller areas, or motor drive for larger units and for organisations that want full control every day. Motorised solar shading is controlled by remote control, a wall-mounted switch or integrated into the building’s other AV and control equipment via relay boxes – and everything can be coordinated so that several units are controlled at the same time.
Our latest development is Pendax SOLO, a Swedish-made, autonomous control unit that makes the solar shading self-governing: each unit makes its own decisions about raising and lowering based on sun, wind, temperature and time, entirely without design work, cabling or programming. Installation consists of mounting, a mains connection and a quick setup – and the user can take over manually at any time via the keypad or mobile app, before it automatically returns to autonomous operation. When SOLO is connected to the Pendax CONDUCTOR cloud service, entire property portfolios can be managed and monitored from one and the same platform, with verifiable data on energy and CO₂ savings for ESG reporting.
A complete solution from one company
Because we develop, manufacture and install everything within blackout, solar shading, control systems and AV in-house, we can guarantee that blind, fabric and controls work together as one unit – not as components assembled from different suppliers. That means fewer points of contact for you as the client, a clearer chain of responsibility and a solution built to last. Contact us and we will help you put together the right combination of blind, fabric and controls for your project.
Quality - Environment
AudicomPendax AB is a local producer of meeting room furnishings. We use sustainable and recyclable materials of known origin from sources as local as possible when we manufacture your products.
We design our products to be easy to repair and upgrade. That way they fit into the circular economy.
To keep track of the sustainability of our products, we measure and evaluate eight points across ecodesign, choice of materials, climate smartness and social responsibility.
We are certified to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. Among other things, this means that we have procedures to ensure that we comply with all applicable laws and regulations, and that we work continuously to improve our quality and environmental performance.
As a result, we also undergo a thorough annual review of our operations by a third-party certification body, A3Cert, which in turn is accredited by SWEDAC.
